Products description
... What Maximilian Greiner sent us this year is quite simply a very strong collection. The reds - especially the »Vulkan« - withstood the hot 2018 vintage well. The whites, who can inspire real wine freaks, are even more individual. A third star is not far away.
90 points 2020 Chasselas
Slightly yeasty nose, which shows the sovereignty of the lack of primary fruit. On the palate there is a noticeable grip, lots of minerality, almond and floral. Needs air to develop, but is an excellent accompaniment to food.
92 points 2019 Pinot Blanc
Slight wood touch on the nose, walnut, mustard flour and overall a wine that should be given time. Develops enormously in the glass. On the palate with considerable viscosity, density and white peach fruit. Clear development potential.
93 points 2019 Chardonnay
Pear, linden blossom and a feeling of inner density already in the nose. On the palate, the Chardonnay is open, fresh and with a light grip, spontaneously more accessible than the Pinot Blanc. But the same applies here: Whoever waits wins.
91 points 2018 Pinot Noir Steinkreuz
With its rust-red color, it is reminiscent of autumn. Ethereal notes on the nose, ripe plum, light cinnamon. The Pinot Noir builds up a lot of tension in the mouth, the acid tames the matter. Strong in the hot year.
93 points 2018 Pinot Noir volcano
A light and mature type already in the nose, very similar to the "stone cross". In the mouth the volcano shows the same tension, but shines with a higher density. Already very promising, with melted tannins then sovereign.
