Thank you very much, we are very pleased!
The rating stands for:Producer of first-class wines, most of which are among the best of their kind even in international comparison. Mediocre wines are very rare, there are hardly any real weaknesses. Even in difficult years, first-class qualities are regularly produced here.

Maximilian Greiner is a highly energetic tinkerer, doer and convinced “biodynamic”. In his opinion, wine is also an expression of “our spiritual attitude and the terroir”, which of course is also reflected in the approach in the vineyard (healthy soil as a basic requirement) and cellar (not very interventionist, “a healthy must is usually the best cellar master” - fining and filtration are taboo). The wines are all characters, some more, some less capable of reaching a consensus:
handy, creamy and presently tart and fruity of the Chasselas 2018,
The Pinot Blanc 2018 is extremely aromatic and complex
(yeasty-nutty scent, smoke and yellow, slightly tart fruit, mineral tension on the palate, salted almonds, wood and stone), the sparkling wine Zero Dosage Brut Nature 2017 in the best sense of the word (“all over the place”).

Wine Plus Rating: Very good (88 WP), Favorite Wine, Last Reviewed: April 4, 2021
Wine description from Marcus Hofschuster:
Somewhat yeasty and slightly planty scent with restrained pome fruit aromas, nutty tones, some minerality and floral traces. Clear, polished, fine-juicy, yet quite dry fruit, bright and fresh, very fine acidity, some grip, yeasty and nutty tones, light minerality, very delicate red berry hints, very good, firm, fine-juicy, yeasty and mineral finish with traction. Incredibly much wine for the money.
Drinking recommendation: till 2023+

Maximilian Greiner believes in biodynamics, for him wine is also an expression of our "mental attitude". He uses historical techniques such as the basket press, skillfully uses the wooden barrel - after all, he is a trained winemaker. He loves to keep his wines on the yeast for years; Finishing and filtration are taboo. He founded the winery in 2017 and you can feel his ambitions with every sip - even in the price of his Chardonnay. The crops are well structured and reflect the typicality of the grape varieties.
The Chasselas captivates with lively freshness, delicate notes of vanilla and marzipan as well as slight oxidation.
Greiner also has a knack for the Diva Pinot Noir.
The name GREINER should not be forgotten, it is one of our current newcomers.

Experimental winemakers are abandoning traditional, restrictive appellations
May 17, 2019 Financial Times
Yet so many here want to explore non-conventional grapes and winemaking methods that a substantial proportion of the most interesting Baden wine is now sold as Landwein. Theoretically, Landwein has lower status than Qualitätswein but, judging by last month’s Landweinmarkt in the town of Müllheim, south of Freiburg, it is in considerable demand.
RECOMMENDED BADEN LANDWEIN PINOTS
These wines should be of serious interest to those looking for better-priced alternatives to red Burgundy.
